Roblox Terms Every Player Should Know

Roblox has its own vocabulary! Here are terms you'll hear all the time.

Basic Terms

Robux - The currency used in Roblox

Avatar - Your character that represents you

Obby - Short for "obstacle course"

Noob - A new player (not always an insult!)

Exploiter - Someone cheating with hacks

AFK - Away From Keyboard (not actively playing)

GG - Good Game (said after matches)

Lag - When the game runs slowly

Spawn - Where you appear in a game

NPC - Non-Player Character (computer-controlled)

PvP - Player versus Player

PvE - Player versus Environment (fighting computer enemies)

Limited - Rare items that were sold for a limited time

Gamepass - A purchasable item that gives perks in a specific game

UGC - User-Generated Content (items made by players)

Group - A community of players

Friend Request - Asking someone to be your Roblox friend
