History of Roblox: How It All Began
Roblox is one of the biggest gaming platforms in the world, but it started as a small project. Here's how it grew!
The Early Days (2004-2006)
Two friends, David Baszucki and Erik Cassel, had an idea. They wanted to create a place where anyone could build and play games. They started working on it in 2004.
In 2006, Roblox officially launched! Back then, it looked very different from today. The graphics were simpler, and there weren't many games yet.
Growing Up (2007-2015)
More and more people discovered Roblox. Players started creating amazing games, and the platform kept getting better.
Some milestones:
- Mobile apps were added so you could play on phones
- Better building tools made cooler games possible
- More avatar customization options appeared
Becoming Huge (2016-Present)
Roblox exploded in popularity! Millions of players joined, and developers created incredible games.
Fun fact: During 2020, when many people were staying home, Roblox became more popular than ever!
Today
Now Roblox has:
- Over 40 million games
- Players from all around the world
- Virtual concerts and events
- Millions of daily players
